Enjoy La Hoya like a tourist, all year round

Things to do

Nature

La Hoya borders the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park, a protected area of around 3,700 hectares made up of two large salt lagoons.

The Pink Lagoon

The Pink Lagoon

Torrevieja's lagoon owes its pink colour to a microalga and bacteria living in its hypersaline water. The colour is most intense on hot, sunny days. From its shores you can see flamingos and the salt mountains of the salt works, which are still in operation. Enjoy it from the paths and viewpoints: bathing is not permitted.
