Torrevieja's local governing board has approved the plans for a new heated swimming pool at the Ciudad Deportiva (sports city), with a tender budget of €5.5 million and an 18-month building period.
What it will be like
- 25 x 12.5 metre pool for training, warm-up and water activities
- Reception, changing rooms and stands on the ground floor
- Underground connection to the existing pool, sharing its boiler room
- New green areas and gardens around the building
It will be located behind the Palacio de los Deportes "Tavi y Carmona", opposite the Cecilio Gallego sports hall. The next step is the tender for the works.
More water for a very sporty city
Swimming is one of the most popular sports in Torrevieja, with schools for children, adapted swimming and competitive clubs. The new pool will allow longer opening hours and more activities, and will strengthen the city's ability to host championships and team training camps, something Torrevieja has plenty of experience in.
For residents of La Hoya, the Ciudad Deportiva is a few minutes away by car. And right next to the neighbourhood is La Siesta Park, with a pump track, padel courts and outdoor calisthenics. Discover all the facilities and clubs on our sport in Torrevieja page.
