In June 2026 Torrevieja opened Paseo del Mar, the new leisure and dining complex at the port. It stands on the Dique de Levante, a few steps from the Vista Alegre promenade and the town centre, and is the most visible part of the transformation of the city's waterfront.

The complex, developed by Empresas del Sol, opened its doors on 11 June with a weekend of activities and was officially inaugurated by the mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and the president of the Valencian regional government.
Ten minutes from La Hoya
From La Hoya the port is about ten minutes away by car. Paseo del Mar adds to the classic plans in the centre: the seafront promenade, the Casino, the Eras de la Sal or the floating museums. For anyone living in the new neighbourhood, it is the perfect option for dinner by the sea, a film or a sunset walk around the port.
